Rock Tough 2 vs Chicken Wingz and Fukbois 1
As the dwarf coach exited the dark tunnel he's eye begin to adjust to the brightness of the open arena. The roar of the fans filled his ears. The chant of "Rock Tough" could be heard echoing the stadium . Every pulse of the chant could be felt "Rock Tough", "Rock Tough"," Rock Tough". The atmosphere was truly electric. As the Coach's eye sight returned to him he could truly see the vastness of it all. The stadium was filled to capacity with "Rock Tough" Jerseys everywhere. The Coach may have even seen a "Rock Tough" #01 Jersey on an Orc. The fans have came out in force to see the two most brutal teams of the Cripple League go at it. The Coach knew it would be a brutal and stressful game, but after all this time, it felt good to be back in the spot light of the playoffs.
The Orc team "Chicken Wingz and Fukbois" looked more massive than a body builder on steroids. Were they on roids? Their reputation of being the strongest and most brutal team was well deserved. Looking at the massive Orcs tower over the dwarves could make one question the dwarve's chances. As the "Chicken Wingz and Fukbois" setup on offense , the coach muttered the last words he told he's team in the locker room. "Hold the Line."
The is kicked off and the Orcs explode off the line of scrimmage with berserkers fury. First hit stuns Siltstone, next one knocks out Phyllite and shale. The line suffered a heavy blow and before Siltstone could come back to he's feet, an orc lays a heavy boot to him requiring the stretcher boys to take him off.
Durgrim looks over at the coach. "It isn't anything too serious". With calmness in his voice, the coach replies."Then get him ready for the next drive. We are going to need him." On the outside the coach looked calm, but with every player that arrived on the bench, his nerves inched that much closer to the surface. He had been in games like this before, but this was the first time watching it from the sideline. Three Dwarves on the bench in five minutes. He could only ask himself. Will the line hold?
Next Marble takes a mighty blow, then Scoria takes a hit that also stuns him. Like a dull axe thrashing at a wooden door, the line was buckling under the pounding of the ferocious Orcs. Breccia tries to throw a block at an Orc to help free one of his brother to help him chase the ball carrier, but is knocked aside paralyzed on the ground for a moment. That is when the line gave way and the Orc ball carrier "Puterus" rushed through uncontested.
The coach sat on the side line helpless as he watched he's team fight the swarm of Orcs in full Waaagh from braking the never before unbroken line. Scoria surrounded, breathing heavy and exhausted from fighting off Orcs is struck from behind and Ko'd. Breccia isolated was then swarmed by Orcs but was still able to keep on his feet knowing that if he went down, they may not let him back up.
The whistle blows, finally the Orcs had scored. The coach breathes a sigh of relief as now his team can regroup in the locker room. The crowd starts to turn as Chants of "Chicken Wingz" could be heard as the players entered the locker room. The team looked beaten and bruised as if they had been in a 8 day battle. Siltstone with a bleeding cut over his right eye ,Breccia panting from the loss of breath and Gabbro slumped over as if 500 lbs were on his shoulders.
The coach looks at Gabbro and in a firm voice says. " Where is Scoria and Shale?" "
Durgrim hasn't been able to wake them yet" Gabbro replied in a low tone.
The coach scans the room knowing this is his last chance to get his team back. In aloud voice the coach says "what happened out there?"
"They are Brutes" Basalt replies.
The coach caught off guard by this response quickly barks back. " So are you beaten?" the coach looks back a Gabbro, "should I tell them we are done?" "We don't want anymore?" "Please give us mercy?"
The Dwarves all lift their heads. Their pride had been called into question and it quickly grabbed their attention. The coach continues, " Oh, what will the Karak-a-Krack think about this? A dwarf team bowing to a bunch of green skins because they could not handle some stinking orcs."
Gabbro quickly stands on his feet with anger in his voice as if he was going to punch his coach. "We don't bow to anyone, especially Orcs."
The coach looks the rest of the team and says, "How say the rest of you?"
The team stands in unison and says "Aye" with a shockwave of sound.
Lowering his tone, the coach says, "I leave you with this, Its not over until the final whistle blows."
The ball is kicked and the Dwarf line surges forward with new found life knocking out a line orc right from the start. The surge was short lived. The dwarves make their spear head attack on the side of the pitch away from the Dwarves' Coach. Breccia charges up into the formation only to see all four of his brothers knocked flat on their backs. A Orc Blitzer charges at Breccia ,but he knocks him back and then a massive black orc foaming at the mouth knocks Breccia down and the ball goes flying. From the coaches angle, he couldn't tell where the ball went. He did see Breccia get back to his feet and knock the black orc flat on his back. He could hear a yell of desperation from Gabbro. "Get to the ball La..." He's words fell short. Something must have happened to him. The coach still unable to see from his side of the field due to the swarm of bodies in the area, began to feel his emotions sway with the cries of the crowd." He then Sees Rhyolite get carried off the field from being knocked out. The massive pile begins to clear and he is shocked by what he sees. Basalt somehow has the ball and is handing it off the Breccia. They were surrounded by Orcs and some words could be seen being exchanged between Basalt and Breccia. Then a Wild Cry came from Basalt as he charged a black Orc hitting the Orc in the gut causing him to spew blood from his mouth. Breccia followed behind running as far and as fast as he could. The orcs charged after Breccia but couldn't catch him. Breccia crossed the line just as the whistle blew. The Crowd erupted and went crazy. A chant began to form, "Breccia, Breccia, Breccia".
The dwarves had managed to push the game to overtime and were holding on. The Dwarves kicked off to the Orcs ,but this time the team had renewed confidence and the line held firm. The Orc ball carrier for minutes that felt like hours could not breach the line. Finally when the time started to tick down and the dwarven line started to close in, the Orc ball carrier ran at the line and burst through between two dwarf linemen. Chert looks at the ball carrier break the line and before anyone could think any thing Chert Yells over the field." It's not over until he crosses the line." Then as if they had done it a thousand times, Chert charges a black Orc knocking him down allowing Siltstone to push a tussling pile and allowing Basalt to break free and challenge the Orc ball carrier one last time for the game. The Orc attempts to push Basalt away but he holds firm. Then the Green skin tries to dodge away but Basalt firmly holds on and brings him to the ground.
Basalt still holding on to the Orc hears the whistle blow. Did they lose? How did the Orc cross the line with me holding on to him? Then he realized it. Over time was over. Team "Rock Tough", the Dwarves had held on. Now was time for penalty kicks. Breccia Made his first one and so did the Orc. Scoria steps up and makes his second one ,but the nerves over came the second Orc that went to kick and missed it wide right. The crowd that was cheering for the "Chicken Wingz" at half time erupted in a chant of "Rock Tough". Against all odds, the Dwarves had survived to move on to the semis.
The score officially ended in a 2-1 victory for team Rock Tough.
