Hi Coaches, There is no really easy way of saying this so here it is. I am going blind. There is hope. The doctors at V.A. are bringing in a team of specialists for me to meet on the 19th. My Retinal Specialist says that my retinas are healthy and that there is nothing to worry about. The surgeon that has asked for the specialists said that there is a 3+ chance that everything will be fine in my right eye, which is the eye that they found my as of yet unnamed (as far as I am aware) eye issue. My left eye was free from sight deterioration until about 3 days ago when i started noticing the growth on the edge of my line of sight. That growth is only the size of a pin head right now, while the growth in my right eye is covering most of my optic nerve. If anyone has noticed that I haven't been my chatty self, this has kind of taken the wind out of my sails. I've been feeling a bit depressed and have been isolating myself. My wife pointed it out and I was speaking to a classmate that said that I was in mourning, leave it to a room full of psychology students to pin point my exact emotional response to my current situation. If I disappear for a short time, now you gents will know why. I am not planning to, but the surgery on my right eye will be invasive and will require some time to heal. Anyway, I am hopeful, we caught my eye issues before severe trauma cold take place to my optic nerves. The Doctor said that the left eye will be easier to deal with. First the growth is much smaller. and Finally, they can remove it with out much effect to my vision in that eye. I will post again after meeting with the specialists.
