Hello sports fans of all likes and persuasions. We are knee deep into the playoffs and after a wild wild Wild Card round it is time to take a look at the remaining teams.
To start, let's examine last seasons champions and this seasons most heavily favored team, the Rock Tough Dwarves. They are once again ahead of the pack with their highly potent offensive game play led by Breccia. Breccia tied for 1st in Touchdowns scored while their offense entered the endzone a whopping 15 times. When you match that up with their machine like defense, led by a Death Roller, this team proves that when it comes to pure stubbornness and will to win, this team takes a back seat to no one.
The next team on the list is the Blood Bath Barons. This team was beset with tragedy the entire season. With the death of five teammates, the loss of skill and gold became quickly became an obstacle. However, this teams grim demeanor and perseverance impressed even the most dour Dwarven Blood Bowl fans. After a mid-season slump, the Blood Bath Barons charged down the last third of the season to clinch the Division III title.
The third seed is occupied by the Kleeveland Kannibals. The Kannibals climbed to the top of Division II on the hooves of their powerful defense. While their Hobgoblin offense did just enough to not disappoint their masters. However, the Chaos Dwarf defense crushed their opponents under their boots using them as a step-stool for their stunty legs.
The fourth seed was taken by the Fiambrines. The Fiambrines are another defensive powerhouse led by the Wight,Ulric the Unmatched, with 55 tackles on the season. To add to their Undeadly defense, The Fiambrines finished the season with the third most effective offense crossing the goal line 11 times over the season earning a first round bye.
The Rotavele Ravens are unequivocally the best female team on the pitch today. Plus, they are the only all female team on the pitch today. Unless, you count the Fro-Yo's. They fought for their place in the playoffs with a hard hitting defense played in a journeyman like fashion. Following that up with an effective offense, these ladies are on the prowl for the Cup.
Team number six is My Arse is Dead. This team put forward a total team effort and came up with a clutch victory over the Ogre team Da Busted Bloodvessels to hold onto a place in the Wild Card round. They followed that with a solid victory over the Stormland Reavers to reach the Quarter finals.
The seventh team in the quarter finals is the Elf Chewers. When the Monster Squad decided that the would rather unlive than play Blood Bowl, their necromancer decided to disband the team. Fortunately for the league, Nuffle provided. The Orc team, Elf Chewers, had shown up ready to play and play they did, right into the Wild Card round.
The final seed of the quarter final was taken by those oozing mounds of putrescent pustules, the Walking Wounded. These harbingers of decay burst forth in the final third of the season to secure their place. Their tactic of causing their final opponent of the season to not show up due to a fear of contagion was a stroke of genius that forced Mallobaude and his Dark Knights into a win or bust situation that they were unable to overcome their curse.
As soon as all the teams are ready, the will be placed into their bracket slot based on their records. This C.R.I.P.P.L.E.D. Cup run to the championship has it all and is shaping up to be the most entertaining yet.
