Hi Sports fans, its that time of year again when the best of the pitch square off to try to take posession of the CRIPPLED Cup. Is there a finer time of year? I think not! So let's break it down.
In Division 1, the top 4 teams are all still vying for a spot in the post season reveries. The Cool Runtlings are in first as of the end of week 6 arrives. I have a question. Viewers, do you think anyone will put either of the Runtling blitzers heads on the market? They have combined for a total of 12 ko's, 12 injuries, 12 casualties, and 12 deaths between the two of them. a more brutal pairing has not been seen since my colleague, Arachno, played 6 seasons ago. Will this pair of serial killers go unchecked or will someone step up and place a bounty on their heads to turn them into targets. We may never know. In seond place we have the long time top tiered team the Kleeveland Kannibals ready for another shot at the cup. This season started as a rebuilding season, but they pulled it together fast as they marched toward the post season. The rivalry between the Kannibals and the Runtlings will be remembered for years to come as the Runtlings were the first and only oppoenet that ever harmed a Kannibal player permanently. I don't know if they jumped him on an alley way before the match to tenderize him for the match. In third place is last seasons Cup stealers, the Dead Monsters United. They are looking for their second straight title shot. If they can pull it off thenthey will be the first team since the Tobarrow Bay Buccaneers did it17 years ago with Peg Leg Pete and crew destroying the Orcington Greenskins in both title matches. We asked Peg Leg Pete himself what he thought of there chance to topple the Buccs record and he had this to say. "Well, it was a long time ago."in fto get to the post seasonorth place needing help to get into the post season are the Geckos. They have stubbornly persisted in their bid for the Cup. The need the Dead Monsters United to draw twice or lose twice and then they would need to win throughout to get to the post season. Stranger things have happened such as an Underworld team dominating a very good league of teams for two seasons straight. The teams that the Geckos are up against are the very tough Kannibals and a very tough Ogre team in the Busta Bloodvessels. What a run that would be if they could pull that off? It would be amazing to say the least.
Division 2 has been settles as to who will be in the post season, but who will get the first round bye will be determined by Prehistoric Rumble and the Panda's Rejects. No matter who wins, this will be a very speedy match up. Will we see any fast pass touch downs? Only Nuffle knows, but the possibility of a high scoring pass intensive match id probable with these two teams going head to head. The Brawlers wouldn't need to ply this match if those lovable hug-able lil guys from Hillshire farms hadn't won their match up with some over the top play and good ball control. We asked Pete about this earlier and this what he said."err...what are trying to ask me? They won 1 match this season. They played well for 1 match. Chubby lil sausage makers. I have new jobs for them next season as we open up a concession stand at the pitch.
Division 3 is still up in the air as 4 teams are vying for a post season position. PunchOut is in first place and is the first human team to make the plaoffs in a long time as Pete put it earlier. The Protectors are in second place with those Lords of Chode in third and rounding up fourth place are the Knights of Ouch. Can the humans stay on top and get that important bye to head directly into Cup play.
