With nice weather and a new pitch built in the temple city of Hexoatl the lizardmen fans in the city and even some of the orc fans from the WAAAGGGHHHful's home town showed up to see if this new league could hopefully satiate their need for blood bowl. The teams made their way onto the pitch and the coin was tossed. Chotec's Warriors elect to kick first.
The warriors kick short and use the confusion among the orc lines to reposition their front to be closer to the ball. Noticing that the bash is a bit harder for them now the Housers try to open a wedge in the lizardmen lines, they succed in getting a bit of momentum as the black orc Jacob rips the tail off the much smaller skink Dawn. It will grow back but he is to badly hurt to continue the match.
The orcs use this opertunity to secure the ball and then the match turns into a bash fest. The lizardmen trying to break though the orcs and the orcs try to find a way past the wall of scales. Neither team seems to be getting the advantage with the Black Orc Bark and the skink Day Break both being knocked out in the fighting.
The lizardmen in the final few turns of the match manage to knock the ball louse but the orcs continue to contest it as the ball is bounced around the fight neither team able to get their hands on it. In the process Sun Rise is also knocked out and the warriors are left with only one skink on the pitch and he is currently on the floor. Things look like it is going to be 0-0 going into the second half much to the disappointment of all the fans.
Until the Housers goblin Gobbag in an act of self preservation tries to get away from the warriors' massive kroxigor Sun Burn only to fall victim to the giant reptile's tail. This has opened up an opportunity, Sun Burn is free and the only player in range. Morning the Skink knows he can't go get the ball and run it into the end zone before the whistle but he can get it to Sun Burn. The saurus try to clear a path for the skink but their are still a lot of orcs between Morning and the ball.
With a quick prayer to Nuffle Morning makes his mad dash for the ball. He manages to slip between two of the orcs and snatches the ball to escape before a black orc can step on him. He gets to the Kroxigor and shoves the ball into it's hand. "Run Sun Burn! Run!" he yells as the mighty beast does as he is told.
The Kroxigor scores bringing it to 1-0 in favor of Chotec's Warriors and the crowed is loving it as they can hardly believe what they have just saw.
Both teams get a well deserved half-time break while the crowed enjoy the food and half-time show. The warriors are confident the Housers are kicking off to them now so all they really need to do is hold the ball. Day Break has woken back up but so has the black orc Bark. The warriors are still down two players and the Housers are at full strength.
The half starts with the skinks fumbling with the ball as the saurus control the front line and establish a cage. Again the match turns into a brawl and the lizardmen are still outnumbered and things are only getting worse. Solar Flare gets himself knocked out trying to bring a black orc down. Now lacking a saurus the front line is crumbling and the skins double back as the orcs press the attack.
Seeing an opportunity Day break and morning make a run for the protection of a lone saurus in a fight with a lineorc. But the Housers are closing in and when Day Break tries to make a run for it a blitzer knocks him to the ground, freeing up the ball. Greg one of the free orc blitzers deals with Morning as he send the skink flying into the injury box, badly hurt and out of the match. Ian, the blitzer who tripped Day break picks up the ball and runs for the end zone. A saurus tries to chase him down but is tripped up by the other orcs.
Ian ties it up in the last seconds of the match. The crowed though annoyed at the draw was excited due to how close the match was. Either team could have one and the crowed was now looking forward to the next match.
